Your role
Reporting to the Client Services Assistant Director, the Receptionist is the first point of contact at NHB’s head office. You play a key role in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient environment while supporting employees, tenants, visitors, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist visitors at the head office in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain daily records of employees present in the building
- Keep employee and housing manager extension lists up to date
- Provide basic information and guidance to visitors
- Access tenant files and respond to basic tenant inquiries
- Monitor NHB Facebook pages for selected villages and respond to or forward tenant questions and
concerns as required
- Answer phone calls and redirect inquiries to the appropriate internal contacts
- Register, sort, and distribute incoming mail
- Dispatch outgoing mail and packages
- Assist employees with office supply request
- Support the distribution of tenant statements and other communications
- Assist in organizing tenant and employee activities
- Ensure tenant forms (Housing Applications, DAS, etc.) are printed, stocked, and readily available
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Profile
- Secondary V diploma or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar position
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Salary and benefits
This position offers a competitive hourly base salary ranging from $24.70 to $28.41, depending on experience, with a flexible work schedule of 35 to 40 hours per week. Employees are eligible for an annual travel allowance of $13,719.30, an annual cost-of-living differential (CLD) of $11,881.08, and a food cargo allowance of $4,005.42 per year, in accordance with current policies and eligibility criteria.
The position also includes 25 vacation days, 16 statutory holidays, and 12 sick days per year, with the option to accumulate a bank of 70 hours (10 days). Group insurance and a pension plan with a 7% employer RRSP contribution are also offered.
