Project Manager/

Status: Permanent / Full time (35 hours/week)

Direct supervisor: Assistant Director, Real Estate and Renovation

Location: Kuujjuaq

The Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB), is responsible for managing and operating a pool of +/-4,000 social housing units in the Kativik region, spread across fourteen (14) villages. The NHB is looking for renovation/construction project managers throughout its territory. With the aim of offering comfortable, safe and affordable homes adapted to Inuit needs and culture, and to contribute to community development.

FUNCTION:

Are you passionate about project management and looking for meaningful work? As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and ensuring the success of renovation projects in a unique and enriching environment. You will be involved in every phase of the project: planning, technical and administrative management, on-site supervision, collaboration with local communities, and coordination of northern logistics.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize and supervise maintenance, renovation and construction projects.
  • Prepare plans, specifications and call for tenders.
  • Oversee financial, administrative, and technical aspects of each project.
  • Maintain regular contact with contractors, suppliers, and local partners.
  • Monitor project quality, timelines, budgets, and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate northern logistics (air and sea transport).
  • Produce progress reports and project monitoring tools.
  • Ensure local needs, cultural realities, and community participation are integrated into the projects.

 
PROFILE 

EDUCATION:

  • College or university degree in architecture, building sciences, or a related field.
  • Project management training is a strong asset

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in renovation or construction project management.
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle projects.
  • Experience in a multicultural and municipal environment is an asset.
  • Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written).

SKILLS:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, and leadership.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and unexpected situations.
  • Customer service oriented and committed to delivering on promises.
