Salary and benefits

  • Annual base salary of $114,924 to $140,152, depending on experience, based on a 35-hour week
  • Total compensation including cost-of-living and food allowance, ranging from $130,811 to $156,039 per year
  • Flexible work schedule (variable hours), 35 to 40 hours/week.
  • An annual travel allowance for your trips between Kuujjuaq and the rest of Quebec
  • Housing provided in accordance with current policies
  • 35 days of vacation
  • 16 statutory holidays
  • 12 sick days
  • Option to accumulate a bank of 70 hours (10 days)
  • Group insurance and pension plan with employer contribution
  • Opportunity to travel to the thirteen other communities in Nunavik as part of your duties

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the achievement of strategic objectives related to the management and renovation of the real estate portfolio.
  • Develop effective frameworks and processes for carrying out major and minor renovation projects, ensure that each stage runs smoothly, and intervene directly in operations and project management as needed.
  • Manage, mobilize, and supervise a multidisciplinary team to promote collaboration, development, and performance.
  • Develop and monitor five-year plans and annual budgets for the department
  • Implement and monitor management tools and performance indicators to ensure operational quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee the management of calls for tenders, contracts, and relationships with consultants, suppliers, and partners
  • Ensure that residential renovation programs comply with SHQ requirements and internal standards
  • Promote teamwork and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Participate in the management of the organization by attending administrative meetings and producing the required reports
  • Stay informed about best practices and innovations to continuously improve the department’s methods and results.
  • Perform any other related tasks requested by senior management

Required profile

  • University degree in building science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years in a management position
  • Experience in residential renovation and building construction
  • Good understanding of construction standards, materials, and methods
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to social housing (an asset)
  • Significant experience in project management
  • Experience working in a municipal environment (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the northern or Inuit communities (an asset)
