Senior Buyer/
Administration

Salary and benefits

  • Competitive annual base salary of $68,559 to $92,474, depending on experience.
  • Including the cost of living and food allowances, total annual compensation ranges from $84,448 to $108,362.
  • Flexible schedule with the possibility of working between 35 and 40 hours per week.
  • An annual travel allowance for your trips between Kuujjuaq and the rest of Quebec.

Responsibilities

Procurement and Contract Management

  • Prepare calls for tender
  • Work closely with requestors to obtain required products or services.
  • Receive and analyze orders for materials, products, and services for maintenance, minor renovations, and annual projects.
  • Determine appropriate tendering mechanisms depending on materials, specifications, and contract value in accordance with policy.
  • Prepare, publish and follow up on public tenders (SEAO) and invited tenders.
  • Analyze bids, prepare evaluation files, obtain bids from suppliers or contractors when required, and confirm award results with selected suppliers; prepare purchase orders for approval as part of the process.

Supplier Relations and Compliance

  • Negotiate continuously with suppliers to obtain best value.
  • Participate in the selection and approval of suppliers.
  • Ensure suppliers honor warranties and recall obligations and maintain a warranty tracking log.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of procurement policies and procedures.

Logistics, Inventory and Operational Coordination

  • Prepare shipping files and oversee all related shipment activities.
  • Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders.
  • Manage the organization’s clothing inventory, orders, and supplier relations.
  • Manage the vehicle file: purchasing, leasing, repairs, and parts.

Other Duties

  • Carry out any other related duty assigned by your supervisor.

Required Profile

  • 4 years of experience as a buyer
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of contract laws and regulations (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the northern context or Inuit communities (an asset)
